• Previous answer about USB 3 (type “C”) is now incorrect. iPhone 15 models all have C ports. 15 and 15 plus are USB 2, 15 pro and 15 pro max are USB 3, with transfer rates of 5gb. You can actually get mini SSD drives that clip on to the iPhone and enable HI-video recording, among other functions.

• No. Apple has never had a USB-C port in any iPhone. But I'm sure there are cables with the proper connections. And there are probably adapters that allow other cables to work. I personally prefer to have as few connections as possible.
