If you have a 4K UHD TV then use the 4K Apple TV unit. Either the 32G or the 64G.

The samsung smart platform is mostly adequate but I prefer the menu and integration of my spectrum services, etc with the apple tv. If your samsung cannot display 4k content then the cheaper apple tv will work fine for you.

If the Samsung is a newer model, it will auto detect the Apple TV for the input you have it plugged into.
