The cellular service is optional. You can use it as a non-LTE watch without activating service.

Please try again later.you must have cell service to utilize the LTE functions on the watch. this service must be from the same provider as the iphone. contact your carrier about adding it its about 10 a month. otherwise you can use the watch with the phone via Bluetooth although you will have to be within connectivity distance. the watch, without cellular service, cannot function without the phone
