The Arlo Essential Spotlight camera can connect directly to your router's wifi network. Its range limitation depends on the wireless range of the router and the obstructions between their connection. If connected to an Arlo base station/SmartHub, you can place the camera maximum of 300 feet (90 meters) from the SmartHub or base station. The maximum line-of-sight range of 300 feet is reduced by each wall, ceiling, or other major obstruction between the camera and base station. ^RM
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I set mine at approx 300’ between hub and the essential camera and the signal bars show 2 out of 3.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just set up a new Arlo Essential Spotlight camera. I already have an older model Arlo camera that uses the small round base station. The older camera with its base station plugged directly into a mesh system works extremely well outside about 115’ from the router. The Essential camera in the exact same location has 1 bar and tested poorly yesterday. Essential will not work with the old base station and I am not certain if it is worth keeping. I wanted both cameras pointed in different directions in the same area but the Essential is not meeting Arlo’s stated standards of 300’. Why is the older camera with base station working great and the new one, not so much?
