I don't think you can turn the phone call off and only get a notification to your phone. I just checked the settings and didn't see that as an option. When someone rings the doorbell, your phone immediately starts ringing. However when your phone rings you have the option to mute the microphone so the person at the door can't hear you which I like and you also have the option to send them default automated messages like "Sorry, I'm busy" or "I'll be right there".
