“Do the cameras itself need wifi or as long as the receiver receives the internet signal?”

• The cameras transmit to the base station. You can install a usb device such as a USB drive to locally store data but you will need Wi-Fi to view data from the Arlo app remotely.

• Cameras transmit to the Arlo Base station. The base station needs Wi-Fi to allow you to view data from the cloud/ app/ Wi-Fi. The base station can use a USB flash drive or hard drive to locally store data but you won’t be able to remotely view it.
