The laptop comes stock with 16GB RAM total - 8GB soldered permanently + 8GB in a removable slot. To upgrade, you can only swap out the removable stick. So if you put in a 32GB stick, you'd have 40GB total (8GB soldered + 32GB new stick). And to answer your other question theirs only one NVME SSD slot available (go big or go home)
