What type of battery does this use? null

Does not use individual batteries. Uses a dual AAA NiMH rechargeable battery pack in each handset.

Proprietary batteries from AT&T, not ones you can buy at the grocery store. The ones I had for an earlier model lasted a long time (they recharge on the phone stand), and after several years when the original ones didn't last for a 1 hour call AT&T wasn't making them anymore (this is not unusual in today's world) I found some generic ones on Amazon.

not sure what they are called..... but they are the batteries (2) together that you plug inside.
