The W1 chip is Apple’s proprietary addition to their models of Bluetooth headphones. The biggest feature of the W1 chip is seamless Bluetooth setup. To pair headphones with the W1 chip to an iOS device, you just need to turn them on and hold them nearby to an Apple device. This model does have the W1 chip.
