The battery will not drain nightly. I'd expect 2-3 nights without a recharge.

they do turn off if they are not being chared 
 i do not recommend you sleep with them on . you could damage them or possibly overheat right in your ears 
 they are more for adaily use not for sleeping . go to dre beat website and consult with a tech or chat with a geek squad rep and see if you could use them while your sleeping .

They will just die if you dont shut off. Plus, I couldnt imagine sleeping with them since they are not too comfy

You have to manually turn them off. There is no auto off feature. If you are going to wear them to sleep why not use corded headphones?
