“How many physical buttons does this headset have and where are they/what are they for? I'm not fond of touch surfaces on modern headphones.”

One small power/bluetooth button on the right ear. You can pause/skip and turn volume up and down using the buttons on the left ear. The big Beats symbol is pause/skip and the circular parts around it act as volume buttons.
