No, so you better not leave the kitchen. This is the worst feature of this piece of crap. You start it, then some time later you get a 1 minute window to open and add food, otherwise it turns off. So it is always a 2-step process, you can't start your food and come back when it's done. You need to stay close by so you can hear the beep then open and close the door to get it to start cooking.
