“24” my wall centers , so need a 2x6”. But do I need 2 boards one for top rail and one for bottom rail. The picture shows 2 horizontal rails but not the distance apart. And or they 16” end mounting hole to end mounting hole?”

The plate that attaches to the wall is 18 1/8” wide by 6 7/8” tall and has 3 slots on the top and bottom corners for the lags

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I measured the distance between the top bolt and bottom bolt and it is a shade over 5 1/2" center to center 'between them. Six inches will put the bolts pretty close to the edge. The bracket measures 18 1/4" horizontal. I included a picture of the measurements from the installation instruction book.
