You can mount this anywhere you'd like. Several factors will affect how good of a signal that you will get, especially where you mount it. Is it possible to get stations mounting on a cabinet, or a wall covered by a cabinet, yes; however, there maybe somewhere else that you can get better reception. Unfortunately there's no way to know other than trying it. Fortunately this antenna is inexpensive so it won't set you back too much if it doesn't work out.

Yes. Ours is installed behind a TV stand against the wall in one room and tucked behind a tight space behind a mounted TV in another.

There are little stickers with it and if the wall is smooth, then yes.
