• For the most part it’s closed. The only reason there would be water in the dock is when you use the self cleaning mode. And even then it’s not enough for the dogs to drink. You can usually wipe it all away with a single papertowel.

• The docking is not quite closed but they wouldn’t be able to access it unless you remove the cross wave from the docking station

• is closed when machine is in the dock the cleaning cycle sucks all water into the machine

• Yes, everything is sealed inside the machine so dogs aren't able to get to the dirty water.
