Yes, you can use it on hardwood floors, one way to know if your floors are sealed put a small drop of water and if the wood soaks it up then your floors are not sealed. You may not use hardwood floor cleaner, please stick to the water you might damage the steamer and void the warranty.

As for your flooring, if possible, check with your flooring manufacturer or installer to verify if they're sealed or not. Generally speaking, sealed wood floors will have a sheen or glossiness to them and water will bead/not soak into the wood, if spilled on the floor.
