“Does this leave a residue on the floor? I am super picky and won't use Swiffer products or most floor cleaning products because they leave a residue on the laminate floors wherein you can see footprints on the floor within moments of mopping and drying.”

No it does not leave residue on the floor. Cleans them super good & you will tell the difference!
