“Does this tivo work with pavlov media basic cable? I recently rented an apartment as my wife got my house. The apt came with free basic cable, just plug coax into tv and watch. But I want to record shows and the company does not authorize upgrades.”

Would call tivo support and ask them. They will stay on the line with you when you call the cable company and talk to them.
