“I have a 500 Series compact laundry on order, and my contractor is modifying a closet for it. Does the dryer exhaust moisture into the air or is it just warm dry air? Contractor said if it's dry he doesn't have to vent through roof, but if damp he has to.”

• You can't vent something that has no vent. The heat it generates is dry and you need to keep the cabinet/closet door open as it gets almost too hot to touch on the sides.

• No vent necessary. It pulls moisture from the drum while drying and sends down a rear drain into the drain shared with the washer.
