QuestionAccording to the Best Buy "compare product specification" the Bosch 500 dryer exhaust vent location is back of the dryer and the Bosch 300 and 800 exhaust vent location is ventless. Is this correct? Also is the Laundy Dryer Vent Kit necessary?

- Answer We bought a 500 series Bosch dryer. It is ventless and you do not need a vent kit. You need a stacking kit if you plan on stacking the washer and dryer. We are very happy with our purchase. Essentially it extracts the moisture from the circulating air and pumps the water through a small drain tube into the wall drain for the washer.

- Answer This dryer is a 240V 30A dryer. It will dry your clothes. Our whole building is religated to ventless dryers b/c we don't have vent connections in our apts for the dryers. Almost all the units have the Bosch (this one or its predecessor axxis) and everyone i spoke to swears by them. One of my friends who rents move from one apt in our building to another and in doing so went from an apt with the LG combo ventless to the apt with the Bosch axxis stacked units and he said that it was like night and day. He said he could dry multiple jeans in the dryer in one cycle. The LG took forever and the clothes never dried. The LG is a 110V. Our apts have small w/d areas. the closets where they all are housed in each apt are small and the doorways are max 24" so for me at least the fact that the Bosch comes in at 23.5" depth and is stackable was a big deal. Plus the washer can plug into the dryer so since we only have one outlet in our w/d areas (one 240V 30A outlet) this works out perfectly b/c it means I don't have to have an electrician run more wiring.

- Answer Not sure what you are asking "How does it work"? Google ventless dryer. It uses heat and a condenser to remover moisture. It takes almost twice as long as a dryer but if you don't have a way to vent the dryer it is your best option. Yes, they can be stacked or put side-by-side. Mine is pretty good and quiet. The knuckle heads from Best Buy that did the installation forgot to remove the "transport or shipping bolts" and both machines were damaged the first time the washer ran. Best Buy replaced them both without any hassle.

QuestionI have a new bosch 500 series dryer. I want the water to drain thru the drain hose but it drains into the condensate tank. What should I do to get it to drain thru the hose. There is no obstruction that i can see.

- Answer Hi Nina, thank you for your question. The 800 Series Compact Washer, Model:WAW285H2UC is 50 dBA when washing and 71 dBA when spinning, the 800 Series Dryer, Model:WTG865H4UC is 63 dBA. The 800 Series Washer does not require a drain pan has it has our 24/7 AquaStop leak protection. AS for availability, please contact your local Best Buy store for stock levels in your area.

- Answer Hi JohnF, thanks for your question and interest in Bosch! Our 800 Series (model WTG865H4UC) is a condenser dryer, and our 500 Series (model WTW87NH1UC) is a heat pump dryer. The differences between heat pump and condensate dryer types are as follows: Heat Pump – no heating element, no need to clean the condenser (self-cleaning), cycle time takes a few minutes longer than condensate; Condensate – 2,520 watt heating element, condenser needs to be cleaned (remove and rinse condenser periodically), slightly shorter cycle than heat pump. Bosch Dryers are supplied with an adapter (part#WTZPA20UC ) to fit a standard 4-Prong, 30A, Dryer receptacle (NEMA 14-30R) to power both Bosch Washers and Dryers. We hope this information helps. - Answer Hi meme, thank you for your question regarding Model:WTG86401UC. Per the Use and Care Manual: The Childproof look is activated, deactivate Childproof look. In order to do this: To Activate/Deactivate, touch Time dry and Finish in buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. In the display field, you will see the key symbol light indicating the childproof lock is active. NOTICE: The childproof lock will remain activated until the next cycle start even after switching the machine off. You must deactivate the childproof lock before the next cycle and, if necessary, activate it again after starting the cycle. - Answer Hi curious, thank you for your question and interest in Model:WTG86401UC. Chlorine Bleach negatively affects some internal rubber and plastic parts in the “wetted” system of the washer. The ecologically friendly process of Pre-Wash has been developed for a thorough washing process (whiter results in programs like Cottons, Sanitary, Towels, etc.). Detergents and/or solid bleaching agents based on oxygen (like Sodium Percarbonate) are safe to use. This is true in all Bosch washers.

QuestionWe have a 500 series Bosch dryer. We clean the Iint trap after EVERY load.... I'm surprised to find so much Lint in the condenser and building up in the airway beyond the condenser. How does this happen?? What can we do to keep the airway clean?

QuestionIs the heat pump designed for the long term? I wonder if lint will in anyway clog the drain line. Would I need to clean lint from both the lint filter as well as the screen covering the drain line opening within the tank?

- Answer Hi MauiNut, thank you for your question. Model:WTG86401UC is a Condensation Dryer, it does not contain a heat pump, so yes, you would need to clean the heat exchanger monthly as well as the lint filter every time you use the dryer.
