The best reason for getting these was for my son to bring his music with him while he fished. You can change the lenses to clear and wear them inside. I cannot hear them when they are on next to me at a reasonable volume. And lastly, when lots of people have issues with their ears and need to keep them clear its nice to have this alternative. I hope this helps.
