“So these aren't normal earbuds. You can't use it with any other app besides the bose library.. I like Lo-Fi music when I sleep but seems like I won't be able to do that. Is that correct?”

Yes. You are correct. Only Bose sounds via the sleep buds app. I did not have a problem with this nor did I see it as a limitation. I get a full nights sleep using them, the app, and the alarm. The distractions of the world are shut out

Correct, these are only capable of playing preset white noise type noises to block sound within the companion app.
