Yes I had the same set up and was never satisfied with my TV sound for dialogue. I have a 60 inch plasma tied in to an amp with 5 surround speakers. I had to connect this sound bar directly to my cable box to use the optical connection. I could use it exclusively for the tv but just activate it for dialogue intensive programs. Wow it really helped! And has a special setting for dialogue clarity! Worth it!
