• There's really no advantage to connecting this with a receiver. It would be a waist of money to buy one, and adds a layer of complexity to the setup. If you already own the receiver you could use it if you really want to, but I'd recommend connecting all of your A/V devices to your TV and connecting the soundbar directly to the TV.
