Hello Jim, The Bowers & Wilkins 607 S3 speakers are passive and require an amplified signal to function. An amplifier must be placed between the laptop and the speakers. I recommend the Marantz Model M1. Music from your laptop can be streamed to the M1 via wi-fi.
