• No. Don’t use it for French Press. I tried it, the beans are not course enough, coffee comes our horrible.

• Yes you can. The grinder settings include Press, Perc, Drip, and Espresso. Within each category you can fine tune by multiple steps and grind time and amount. I have used it for Espresso with my Breville Barista Express, as well as for Drip coffee and both yielded great results.
