“I want to use the air-fry function but when I press air fry-start the screen shows pre-heating and microwave. Why is the microwave running on air fry? I had aluminum inside and it sparked once and I shut it off. Microwave is not selected what's happening?”

As indicated in the manual, you'll want to use the crisper pan that came with the unit for the Air Fry function. You'll also notice that there is an image in the manual that does indicate that the word "microwave" will show on the screen until the unit has preheated. This is normal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Can't say why it pre-heats with the microwave, but when used with the combi-cooker pan with the legs out it air frys well, just have to wait until it is pre-heated. Learned that lesson myself.
