Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My Brother printer does not allow me to print black and white if one of the colors is low or out. This is a protection feature of the printer and it is frustrating. I found a Youtube video that shows to remove the cartridge that is low or out, look for the ink window and apply a small piece of black electrical tape and insert the ink back into the printer. This is a temporary work around to fool your printer so you can print black/gray scale. Then go out and buy the color that is out so you don't ruin your printer. Or, ruin it, and get a printer that isn't like the Brother.
