Based on the printer's setup guide, you would need a phone cord for faxing and a USB cord if you decide to print using USB rather than wireless. Otherwise there is an option to setup wireless without the need of extra cords. I hope that helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no Ethernet plug on this printer. I called Brother tech support and was told it does NOT have Ethernet connectivity option. Description is NOT correct.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I couldn't find an Ethernet port on this printer anywhere. I also didn't plug the printer into my computer to set it up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The printer should come with an installation disk to install drivers on to your computer. If you can't use a CD you could always download the drivers from the Brother website. For connecting the printer to the computer itself you could use a USB cable (not provided in the box) or I would recommend you connect the printer to a wifi network or internet router via Ethernet cable. So to answer your question, no you do not need a USB cable to set the printer up. I didn't use one.
