This is exactly WHY a toner type printer is infinitely better for the occasional printer user. Toner is very fine “bits” of plastic in a tube. Think the texture of confectionery sugar. The toner moves to your paper through electrostatic attraction and it is immediately fused or melted to the paper. Improvements in the process now routinely allow for two sided printing. Nifty process! Given the toner material, you will never have to worry about the toner “drying”. I have had the original toner cartridge last me almost four years, no problems! What could cause you trouble though, is trying to save money and buying toner replacement cartridges from a cheap supply source instead of from your printer manufacturer. This COULD be a bad mistake, because the toner might not be made at the exact correct granular SIZE the mfg uses. Too large, you get lighter print results. Too small and you get too much toner to be fused properly to the paper and THAT can seriously screw up the inside of your machine resulting in a very expensive repair bill assuming you can find a place even willing to try cleaning excess toner from the impacted parts of your printer or fax machine. Most likely you would find it cheaper to get a new printer. It is your decision, but I would not suggest you opting to save a few bucks, only to need to replace your printer at some point.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Toner is a powder so nothing to dry up. My last cartridge lasted 3 years and never had problems like ink cartridges run into. That's why I bought a laser printer in the first place.
