The upper freezer drawer extends far enough when opened to allow you full access to the contents in the drawer. It does not completely cover the lower drawer when opened. A:AnswerHi - Upper Freezer Basket Dimensions: 25" W x 5-3/4"H x 13-1/2"D. Ice bucket is inserted on the left side and measures 10-1/4"W x 5"H x 12"D. This leaves approximately 14-3/4"W of free space to the right of the ice bucket in the upper drawer. Lower Basket Dimensions: 23" W x 10"H x 10-3/4"D.
According to the dimensions above, there would be enough space (14-3/4"W x 13-1/2"D) for a 12" square box to lay inside the upper basket. Lower basket is not deep enough. We hope this is helpful. Keep in touch! Sue
