• I don't use the app,just the buttons on the machine.Easy peasy.

• The app doesn't actually control the machine, it only can change settings.

• Yes, this machine works the same without using Wi-Fi at all as it does using it. Notice in the picture it has all the controls needed on the top.

• Yes, the app is optional and does not inhibit the use at all. I could not figure out the app for the first a few weeks due to not entering the correct code and the espresso maker worked great.
