Yes it does have the ring with bracket to mount on a tripod or monopod. It is fairly compact and not too heavy. You can hand shoot it very easily without the need for support. I really like my Canon lens but another good lens in this range is the Sigma 60-600mm. I have both. Both take great pictures. The Sigma has more zoom range but the lens is much heavier at just under 6lbs.
