• Hello, yes, the printer has a scan function. It will be necessary to install a scanner application on the computer, the application can be found on the CD with drivers that come with the printer or downloaded from the Internet. I downloaded from the Internet, because I do not have a CD drive on my laptop.

• yes it does. you need no special software as you can import an image directly into Microsoft Paint by choosing the File tab and then the From Scanner option.
