• The printer comes with a started cartridge of both color and black ink; however, if you are using this for regular printing, those will not last super long. I have used the same cartridges on a previous printer and always ended up purchasing the xl cartridge version for refills. I'm sure that is why it comes up recommended, but thr printer does come with ink and is ready to print once connected and set up.
