From canon official site, among its spec under section Advanced Image Stabilization describes (https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/products/details/camcorders/consumer/vixia/vixia-hf-w10 ) : "Advanced Image Stabilization helps correct camera shake quickly, so even handheld video taken at long focal lengths can be sharp and steady. It provides continuous adjustment throughout the entire zoom range to correct a broad range of motion." From actual usage under the case of use of zoom in/out in movement, the process is bit slow as doesn't immediately adjust during the motion.
