You should be able to. I didn’t need a remote when programming mine. You have to push a grey button on the back or side of the opener and the units sync.

The instructions state to install it next to your garage door motor/receiver and all the hardware is included in the package. I only needed a screwdriver and a short ladder to reach the ceiling of my garage. I never used my garage door opener when setting it up, although they both still work after installation. Short answer is yes, it will open your garage. There is a little installation and set up on your wifi needed but it's pretty simple.
