Short answer - yes it will work on the timer. Long answer. It will work as a normal light bulb just fine on a power timer. However you will be unable to turn the light on or off while the power is off at the timer or off at the old school light switch using the app. Do you have to use the app? No

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.With these smart bulbs you can remove that timer. I use them on my porch light. We just leave the switch on all the time. The smart bulb knows the time of sunrise and sunset. I set it up to come on a sunset, and turn off at sunrise. You can customize the on/off time for whenever you want. If you want to turn it on/off outside of that schedule, you can just tap a button on the app on your mobile phone. It's too easy. You can also adjust the brightness, so it's kind of a built in dimmer too. I hope that helps.
