Hi Curios. Thank you for your inquiry. To clarify, the cameras do not need to be physically connected to the monitor. They connect wirelessly for video transmission, but each camera must be plugged into a wall outlet for power. The included power adapter for each camera is 7.6 feet long. Please note that both the monitor and the cameras need to be plugged in to operate—they will not function without power.
