A:Answer "TRUE BLACK" DISPLAY IS ONLY AVAILABLE ON OLED SCREENS! They turn off and on one pixel at a time. All other screens are shades of gray, the darkest of which are virtually black, accomplished with technology like HDX, Dolby vision, quantum dot, multi-core processors, and 240 (and up) zone full array back lighting. Most computer monitors are lower contrast and a whole notch down in snob level display quality. That said, this DELL monitor has business class quality, durability, and function. It displays 1080p resolution in the top 25% of it's class. It does the job every day very well with no annoying complaints like wash out, eye fatigue, and terrible color.
I can go from a high end 4k Dolby vision type display in the living room to this monitor in the office without feeling like I am slumming it with something cheap. This monitor is well rooted in the best-bang-for-the-buck category. There is better for a lot more money, but this is not even close to the washed out junk budget class you might be worried about.
Bottom line - buy this monitor. I have two of them. Great productivity! They are great. For the price, you can't go wrong. If you want a higher snob level picture, go for a worthy video card and a high end TV. The minimum quality would be TCL series six with HDX and Dolby Vision which meet high expectations for color and contrast. At about $600 for a 55 inch, it is the best bang for the buck. It just gets better from there, but in only some ways and way up in price.
Everything in the end is relative to price, purpose, and preference. I have just added some reality and choices to what you may want.
