My experience is no, the 3400 will see it as not compatible, even though battery model is correct for the camera. I purchased, and will be returning it.

No this Digipower battery is not compatible with the Nikon D3400. I purchased this battery in January 2017. When powering on the Nikon camera with this battery an error message is displayed on the LCD display indicating that it is incompatible. See photo. You must buy the Nikon brand.
