“I have a 55” Samsung curved flat screen. The mounting holes on back of TV are 16” by 16”. Will this mount work for that?”

TVs use the "VESA" standard for mounting. 16" x 16" sounds like you have a 400mm x 400mm VESA mount. This mount will work.
