“Why is the blue power switch light not turing on? both the ground light and protected light are on when i plug in the surge protector, but the power switch light is not on. shouldn't the power light be on?”

no.. there is no light on th epower switch. you will only see green and yellow.

I think the fact we're paying so little has a bit to do with the quality, but I'm confident we're dealing with faulty lights rather than faulty surge protection. It's enough of an issue that they should replace it if you're worried.
