the plug that came with the portable charger is a dual plug. you use the usb in the portable charger when you connect it to your laptop or desktop to charge the portable device while having the small end plugged into the portable charger. in order to charge your phone you swap ends to use the other end (small) end in your phone while having the usb end plugged into your portable charger.
