“I used to own a Dyson and about every 6 months the extension hose would rip and I would have to buy a new one. Anyone seeing this issue on the newer models”

I haven’t had this issue with this vacuum (and I do regularly use the hose with attachments to clean crown molding etc). I still have my old DC24 from 12 years ago & didn’t have an issue with that either. Maybe the issue with yours was limited to certain models/years.
