The vacuum exhausts the air on the sides. If you have any dirt on the floor it blows it around while vacuuming. Defeats the purpose of the unit if you have to go over same are multiple times to clean. The hose for the tools is stiff, twisted and too short. You have to lift the entire vacuum up to use anywhere but the floor.
