Hello Nmay, This is Miella from Dyson. When in the fan mode, the machine is on for as long as you'd like it. When in the heat mode, the machine works to heat the area to the set temperature. Once reached, the machine will shut itself off. However, the time it takes to do so depends on environmental factors such as your space layout, ventilation, etc. Hope this helps!
