Does the $477 device have the filter inside? null

Yes, it has a filter. The system works well, however when it's time for a new filter, you can only get it from Dyson directly, and they are $75. As of today, I am still waiting to hear when I will receive it - they were out of stock and it was on back order. So...not thrilled right now.

Yes. It's in the base of the fan and slips in very easily.
