We changed the filter but the code still flashes “F= (three Bars). Why? null

Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. When you change the filter on your TP01 Pure Cool, you will still see the flashing "F" until you reset the filter indicator light. To do so, press and hold the 'standby ON/OFF' button for 6 seconds on the remote, to reset the filter light. Hope this was helpful! Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

On round cool purifier... you have to hold down moon to clear outside filter THEN hold down arrows out (oscillation) to clear inside filter

Mine was doing the same thing but I read Amy’s answer and that worked. Turn unit on 1st then hold ON button down for 6 seconds, it will show the loading pattern then resume normal function. Btw the owners manual does not tell you to turn it on 1st it just says to hold it down which I tried several times before I turned it on 1st, raised my finger off the ON button then press it down again for 6 seconds...it works! I changed my filter 2 months ago so I’m not sure why it suddenly started telling me I needed to change the filter...whatever.

Was having the same issue with our Dyson Pure Cool Link Air Purifier and started researching troubleshooting for the error code. And found the one answer about turning the unit on FIRST then holding the start button down for 6 seconds worked and cleared the error code immediately.

The TP01 will continue have the F3 code. The product continues to have this problem and the company basically keeps telling me to hold the power button. Not practical. For this reason. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

Thanks for the advice to date. One does need to turn the unit on first before holding down the on button for 6 seconds. When I did that, I noticed a countdown graphic in the lower part of the front of the fan where it normally shows the fan speed/hours until shutoff/change filter graphic. The filter reset graphic looked like a daisy losing its petals, if that makes sense!?

I had to repeat the cycle of holding for 6 seconds twice the 1st time it just dimmed the light on the alert and then the 2nd time it turned off the alert

TP01 has a sequence. Turn the filter off. Then turn the filter on with the remote. The filter images will flash red. Press the oscillate button <> for 5 seconds (counts down 5 to 1). The red filter image with holes will now turn green. After this immediately press the moon button for the same countdown. The second filter will now be green. You can't just do one without the other. I got stuck thinking that it would be OK to just press the moon button for the second red filter, but you have to do the oscillate button first, even though that filter is already green.

If you are connected via the dyson link app and have already replaced the filter, you may consider the following steps. 
1. Open up the app and click the settings button.
2. Select your machine settings and scroll down to ‘Air’
3. Select ‘Filter management’ and ‘Reset filter life’

I tried holding down the off/on button for 6 seconds several times of no avail. I then held down the night button for 10 seconds and it worked.

These tips only worked for one of the two filters. A fan shouldn't be this frustrating (especially a pricey fan).

1. Turn on fan (manual or remote)
2. Hold Power button, but NOT for 6 seconds
3. When you hold the Power button you will see weird formation (like the Predator's timer on its wrist)
4. Hold the Power button until it finishes. 
5. It took almost 10 seconds for mine to finish
6. Then you will see it reset and only the fan speed will show

OK everyone I just changed my filter and I too experience exact same thing .. BUT!! I was holding down the button on the base of the machine and it didn’t work . I finally had to dig in and find my remote control .NOTE:! It will only work from the (handheld) remote control- hold down the on and off switch for 8 seconds and it worked . Boom!

For people who have a newer model: Instead of pressing the ON/ OFF button, we have to press the "Night mode" button on the remote for 5 seconds, while the device is on. (Little crescent moon symbol)

The screen will show a filter symbol and a count down, when you do so.

Hope this helps other people. Took me a while to figure it out myself.

I had to turn off and restart the machine , on the machine   Then sitting almost right next to it, I pressed the off button on the remote and waited for the, now showing, re-set petal disappear one petal at a time until it was gone. I then let go of the button and the machine returned to normal—thankfully, finally, no error code. When I tried doing this in the remote only, from any distance from the machine, nothing changed! I had to get right next to the machine on/off button with the remote to get the re-set petal to appear and do it’s thing!

This same thing happened to me. Following the advice offered here, after a few unsuccessful tries, I held down the moon button for ten to twelve seconds then held down the on/off button for maybe twenty seconds, just long enough for the symbol to change from F= to a different symbol then to the level it was previously set at and there it stayed.  My unit is TP02.

Folks the original answer from Kelly works but ONLY if you press the “standby” button on the REMOTE. It does not work if you press that button on the unit itself.

If it’s not working for you, you need to get really close to the device. I tried at first and it was working I put the remote right next to the flashing lights and it worked. Hope this helps.

Turn on the fan. Once on, hold the standby on/off button for six seconds. Make sure when you do this step the remote is right by the fan. It didn’t work from 3-4 ft away but when I put the remote right next to the front of the fan, it worked like a charm!

Thanks I have the HP01, heat, cool & purifier (no link app). Replacing the filter, then turning it on with remote, then holding in the ON/OFF button on the remote for about 6 seconds allowed the machine to reset with the new filter. Thanks for the tip!

I used the remote to turn it on and held the "remote on button" down for 10 seconds.  That finally worked.  The "F" code is no more  It did not worked when I used the button on the fan.

1. Remove old filter
2. Take new filter out of box.
3. Remove clear mesh off the new filter
4. Install new filter
5. Use remote turn on
6. After on, then keep remote on/off button down 
7. Release finger from button after Flower Petal on display disappears completely

Voila! Dyson should copy this into their instructions with all new filters
