I mounted the camera to the front of the car as I needed front parking assistance. I ran the red wire directly to a circuit in the fuse box and the black wire to the chassis to ground it. You can use an alligator clip to attach the black wire to any nut or bolt in the engine compartment. I put a toggle switch on the ground wire under the dash so I could turn the camera on and off from inside the car. If you are using the camera at the rear of the car you can run the red wire to the hot wire that powers the back up lights. The black wire would go to ground. The camera will go on whenever you put the car in reverse, just like the back up lights. I've attached pictures of how I installed the monitor in the cabin of a C7 Stingray and the monitor under the front air splitter. I laid the monitor down flat and mounted a mirror to correct the image for front view. It works great. I can pull within an inch of a front curb with confidence that I won't scrape the front of the car.
